“…whoever comes to me I will never drive away. ”
John. 6:37
Christians on Sunday at a ball game are in serious error, because a minimum of ONE day out of 7, is the minimum within the septenary cycle, in which to reattune with the mind of Christ, as well as to rest the body. We behold all about us how evil has increased and iniquity abounds. Entertainment – so called – does not generate righteousness.
With reference to the definitions of sin, etc: Paul said that where no law is, there is no transgression. That makes common sense. Christ said that the law and the Prophets were unto John the Baptist. Wherefore, we are not under Law, but under grace of Jesus Christ. While common sense tells us that the “thou shalts and the thou shalt nots” only apply to the children of a family here on earth; yet when somewhat into their teens, they are expected to know what is right and to act accordingly. Ancient Israel under the., Law was but as “‘children” before God. Since Christ we are viewed as advancing teenagers, even entering young manhood. This is evident to us, because from the Patriarchs to Moses were about 5 1/2 centuries, while unto Christ 19 centuries. Bear in mind that God’s manifestation to man is l00 to ONE.
Let us strive to be realistic, forgetting the “letter of the Law” but rejoicing in its Spirit; for, no legalistic disputations nor discourses can profit us before the Throne of His Righteousness-in-Love. HEAR, then; the substance of His Truth-love: Since the indwelling spirit of humanity was begotten by God – we all are His children. And, since we are in the image of God and after His likeness, we know that a Right Father will take to task (and maybe to the “woodshed”) whatever young son of his is unkind, or does injury to another member of the family. Label it “‘sin” or whatever we will.
Wherefore doing injury, or harm to another (without great and good cause) is that for which God our Heavenly Father calls us on to the carpet, and in some cases “to the wood shed.” In that category we find murder, rape, bodily injury to another, theft, arson, kidnapping, robbery and adultery – all outstandingly so. To that we can also add the, pushing of drugs (which harm the body of another), and the implanting of evil in the minds of others.
“ERROR” (before God) principally consists of wrong towards oneself such as the use of drugs, gluttony, drunkenness and fornication; and the neglecting of giving oneself the opportunity of GROWING UP spiritually. This latter is largely confined to working and/or going in for entertainment on the Sabbath.
The harboring of wrong thoughts is not “sin”, but extremely serious error, because. it may lead to wrong deeds which are sin, and which also hinder one’s own progress towards God.
A little earlier I should have mentioned in the category of SIN, the recent re-emergence of sodomy, which today has come into the open and even legalized. Females also are in the same DEPRAVITY. It is that latter factor which makes it horrendous SIN. Such abysmal depravity when in the open INFECTS others; and, through which infection, a society or even a civilization plunges headlong to destruction here on earth and into the fires of Gehenna hereafter.
“Defaulting in recognized responsibilities” is too indefinite to clearly answer. A parent neglecting to bring up and teach the children the ways of righteousness (according to their own best understanding thereof) becomes “sin” for the simple reason that it gives the children a wrong start in life usually leading to crime, prison, sorrow and sickness.
Another man owns property but through high living fails to pay taxes. He loses his Holdings. Gross error but not sin.”
“Indulgences (ordinarily) are but ‘error.’
“Premeditated rebellion against the Father’s Plan, is outright sin; for it leads to harm against His other children. It belongs in Lucifer’s camp.
