Joseph of Old Testament Is The Same Spirit Being As Joseph In New Testament
There are simply too many parallels to ignore this question: Was the spirit who dwelled in Joseph, the youngest of all Jacob’s sons, who later became the Viceroy of Egypt, the same spirit being who provided the human male seed that began the body of Jesus?
Let’s take a look.
Isn’t it just like God to hide the most obvious truths right in plain view, easy for anyone to see, if you have eyes to see. But we have been blinded by the traditions and teachings of men.
First of all, it is my observation that besides the patriarchs, that Joseph was THE MOST BLESSED man, by God, in the Old Testament. Here is what I have found so far:
Then he blessed Joseph and said, “May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked faithfully, the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day,
From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field.
Your father’s blessings are greater than the blessings of the ancient mountains, than the bounty of the age-old hills. Let all these rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince among his brothers.
Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.
the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.
When the chief baker saw that Joseph had given a favorable interpretation, he said to Joseph, “I too had a dream: On my head were three baskets of bread.
Both Joseph’s Lives Were Driven And Defined By Dreams
Both Josephs’ lives were basically defined by the dreams they had, and acted upon. (Links open a new page).
Here are the 6 dreams that Joseph in the Old Testament had.
Here are the 4 dreams that Joseph in the New Testament had.
Both Joseph’s Were Strategically Sent To Egypt
Joseph OT was sent to Egypt to save his old family (from famine).
Joseph NT was sent to Egypt to save his new family (from Herod’s butchers).
Both Joseph’s Refrained From Sex
Gen 39:6-8 Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me!” But he refused.
Mat 1:24,25 And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took her as his wife, and kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son.
Both Joseph’s Caused Jealousy
Jacob had a beautiful striped coat made for Joseph. Jacob especially loved Joseph “because he was the son of his old age” and the first child by his beloved wife, Rachel.
The Bible says that ‘when Joseph’s brothers saw that their father loved him the most, they hated Joseph.’ Then one day Joseph told his family that in a dream, all of them bowed down to him, including his own father. “His brothers grew jealous of him,” the Bible says, and even Joseph’s father scolded him for telling about such a dream.—Genesis 37:1-11.
Some time later, when Joseph was 17, his brothers were many miles away caring for the family’s sheep and goats. So Jacob sent Joseph to see how his brothers were.
Gen 37:18 Now Joseph’s brothers saw him in the distance, and before he arrived, they plotted to kill him. 19“Here comes that dreamer!” they said to one another. 20“Come now, let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits. We can say that a vicious animal has devoured him. Then we shall see what becomes of his dreams!”
Later that day they decided not to kill him, but to sell him into slavery, and lie to pappa Jacob that his favorite son was killed by a wild animal.
Joseph OT really was a truly remarkable man!! From birth to death, he lived a truly extraordinary life… Joseph was SO SPECIAL that he died – age 110 – and was embalmed in Egypt, and the Israelites CARRIED HIS BODY for 40 years in the desert so that he could be buried in the new promised land. None of the other sons of Jacob got this treatment.
Ok, admittedly I’m going on a bit of a stretch here by saying that Joseph NT “caused jealousy” because the Bible does not actually say that. But I think it is more than fair to assume, in this case.
How would you possibly stay humble, or people around you not see that you are a part of the fathering of the incarnation of almighty God?
Here is a key to understanding about Jesus that has been taken away by the dark ages church. We are the exact same combination of man and god as Jesus was. He is EXACTLY like US humans, we both have TWO FATHERS. One Fathers the spirit, the other fathers the physical body.
So Joseph is without question the most spiritually mature of any man on earth at the time, an obvious conclusion considering his physical seed is going to be used to sire the physical body of God the creator.
If you believe, as the church leads us to, that the male seed that started the body of Jesus came from God above, then you have fallen into grave error – called Docetism. Jesus was 100% man because Joseph’s seed was LIFTED from his body and implanted into her egg to impregnated Mary. With this scenario, Jesus is 100% man, and His parents were both virgins.
It is obvious that Jesus was the physical son of Joseph. Jesus looked just like his mom and dad and brothers and sisters. One big unified family:
And coming to His home town He began teaching them in their synagogue, so that they became astonished, and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom, and these miraculous powers? Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers, James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us? Mat 13:54-56
Imagine sitting down for a coffee with this guy?
“SSSSOOOO.. Your kid there… They say he is Almighty God, the creator of heaven and earth. Uh…. (pregnant pause). And you are HIS DAD? Ummmm, well, how? Why? When?
This scene would be SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE for everyone!!!
It is easy to see the parallel between these two reincarnated GIANTS of the OT, Joseph and John the Baptist. Both easily possessing the ability to OUTSHINE Jesus, due to their illustrious pasts’. Here is how they both decided to handle the situation:
He must become greater; I must become less. John 3:30
That is my prayer daily. I hope yours as well.
